The New Earrings

Well I finally had time to photograph my two new pairs of earrings. I've posted one pair on my Etsy site for now. These both incorporate freshwater pearls, which I always find a little difficult to photograph. I have a feeling that I will be learning about jewelry photography for years to come!

I am also participating in Etsy's 'Christmas in July' sale. I have added about 13 items to the sale, but I will probably add more as the month progresses.

Finally, some new jewelry...and sick cat

I have finished making a few pieces of jewelry recently. I had to order a few supplies before I could finish one pair of earrings. Now I have the fun task of photographing them! I photograph my jewelry in a second-story room in my house. This is the same room where I make my jewelry and store my supplies, along with my computer. The problem is, it is supposed to be 100 degrees today and this room is the hottest in the house. Sometimes I feel like I can’t breathe in here and I have to go to a cooler area in the house. The air conditioning just doesn't help much in this room.

I also need to visit my little guy at the vet today. Tigger, my 6 year old kitty, had to be taken to the emergency veterinary clinic a couple days ago. Turns out he had crystals in his urine, and had a blockage. Now the poor little guy has a catheter in him, but he’s been doing well at the vet. We hope that after the catheter comes out, he can “do his business” without anymore straining and blockages.

Happy Fourth of July!

This weekend is devoted to getting stuff done around the house. Yesterday, my husband and I finally patched a few holes in a garage wall. How did we get these holes in the first place? Well, we had about a week of below freezing weather last winter and the pipe that leads to our outside faucet burst. So we learned a few things (the expensive way) about preparing for winter! So we bought a little piece of wall board and joint compound and patched it up. I still need to do another coat of compound, sand, prime and paint.

Just Starting Out

I am just starting out on Etsy, and I created my first Etsy Treasury recently. I was inspired to create "For the Love of Berries" by my very first attempt at growing my own berries. I currently have two potted strawberry plants and a dwarf blueberry plant. The strawberry plants are about 3 feet long now, and the runners are almost hanging to the ground (the pots are on a table).
